Hookup Culture

Women can't have hookups. So it's of no use to tell them they are a prude for choosing not to. Maybe back in the Native American days people had sex so freely that there was no guilt associated with having sex. However, this isn't then. This is America. High and competitive America coming out straight of the Evangelical Era.

So is this a consequence against religion? Should we instead move into the realm of "Free Love" and a lack of guilt associated with having sex as promoted by Feminists? Yes because the guilt associated with premarital or extramarital sex is so pervasive by men and society that it makes women feel guilty for actions that are mostly coerced by men and it also makes this hookup culture continue in the way of rebellion. The "I am not gonna worry who I have sex with" mentality. Which is also VERY dangerous.

The truth is that in many universities across America, students are having TONS of sex. Maybe this has gone on since the 1960's. In fact, it has. My point is that it hurts women in the long run. Large amounts of women from both the 1950's and the 60's+70's are divorced in their middle ages. It didn't matter if they were encouraged in having sex or discouraged against it.

The problem lies in one gender: MEN. I am going to say that and not feel guilty about it. Perhaps they are encouraged that having sex with tons of women will lead them to increase in confidence. If the wife is not "doing her job" then he will look for that satisfaction elsewhere. This has been going on since Antigone.

The very inability of men to look at themselves as part of the problem is why this "Feminist vs Antifeminist", "Religion vs Secularism" and the Abortion debate will continue because MEN FAIL TO SEE THEY ARE THE PROBLEM. When they finally start to support a culture not based on the patriarchy but on equal ground and respect between men and women or perhaps even a move to a Matriarchal society, maybe then there won't be any more women being screwed over. Until then, this debate will continue and I will roll my eyes!
